The City of West Haven has closed Beach Ave and the Sandy Point parking lot due to major road construction and paving, expected to continue through May 24. Consequently the weakfish outing scheduled for this Saturday evening, May 18 IS POSTPONED to a new date and location.

New date is Tuesday, May 28 at the Charles Island sand bar (Milford). Plan on meeting 6:30 – 7:00 at either the Silver Sands State Park parking lot or the FISHERMEN’S LOT that is at the very end of East Broadway, Milford. Since the Silver Sands lot closes at sunset alternative parking is in the fishermen’s lot immediately outside the park proper. We are attempting with DEEP to obtain a parking waiver allowing us to remain in the Silver Sands lot after sunset. However, that is not yet a definite.

Charles Island fishes best on the drop. Low tide on Tuesday the 28th is 9:54PM. See you all then.
